This is a great earworm for a Friday – A new acoustic video for ‘Honey,’ from former Noah & The Whale guitarist Fred Abbott. It features on a deluxe version his debut solo album, Serious Poke, with 6 bonus acoustic tracks, remixes and a new radio mix of “Funny How Good It Feels”.
Following a bout of face-melting live shows – including a sensational set at Cornbury Festival, supporting The Zombies and sold-out headline shows at The Borderline & The Islington – Fred crammed his band into his songwriting studio to record three live & acoustic videos for album favourites Awake, Honey and One Hot Night. These recordings are also included in the new deluxe release of the album alongside a Will Hicks radio mix of Funny How Good It Feels.
If you’ve not been paying attention, Fred is a supremely talented multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, who joined Noah And The Whale in 2009 and had huge success, notably with his contribution to their 2011 Platinum-selling and highly acclaimed Last Night On Earth album.
Abbott enlisted the help of his NATW compadres, and other talented friends, for the recording of Serious Poke, with sessions taking place at West London’s British Grove Studios. The album was co-produced by Fred with Martin Hollis, whose diverse credits include the likes of Grinderman and The Rolling Stones.
