Scottish acoustic band Salt House have added Jenny Sturgeon (vocals, harmonium, shruti) to their numbers which include the sought after talents of Ewan MacPherson (guitar, vocals) and Lauren MacColl (viola, fiddle). Earlier this year Jenny released her second solo album From The Skein. In our featured album review, Neil drew a focus on the personal challenge Jenny made in making the album and how it had pushed her music “far beyond the realms of singer/songwriter, to a wider sphere where words, music and creativity combine in an inspired and thoroughly engaging work.” You can read it in full here.
Her addition to Salt House is exciting news, the trio have already begun working on new songs and plan to take to the road in 2017. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait until next year to witness how that new dynamic will work as they’ve recorded a couple of new videos which were filmed last month which you can watch below. The first is Old Shoes, followed by a Robert Frost poem Lauren set to music The Road Not Taken.
