This month at Cecil Sharp House there is a very special Tribute Concert to the legendary guitarist and co-founder of Pentangle John Renbourn. Although John passed away in March 2015 he left an enduring legacy (read our tribute here) which continues to influence many folk artists today.
The evening will be hosted by British journalist list and broadcaster Pete Paphides and comedian Simon Evans.
Performances on the night will include Ben Watt and Bernard Butler, Clive Carroll, Dariush Kanani, Graham Coxon, Jacqui McShee, Josienne Clark and Ben Walker, Ralph McTell, Rob Armstrong, Wizz Jones and more.
Performing at the home of the English Folk Dance and Song Society, the artists will perform a wide range of John’s songs, performing exclusive collaborations in tribute to the late guitarist who passed away last year.
Renbourn was actively involved in the folk scene from the 1950s right up until his death in March 2015, when he was touring with Wizz Jones, who will perform at this tribute concert. Fellow Pentangle member Jacqui McShee will also perform on the night.

Also, next month don’t miss the release of ‘FINALE’ on 7th October 2016, a remarkable 2 CD set recorded during Pentangle’s triumphant reunion tour in July 2008 which saw the original members of the folk-jazz ‘supergroup’ touring for the first time since 1973. It featured the original line-up of legendary and highly influential guitarists Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, singer Jacqui McShee, renowned bassist Danny Thompson and drummer/percussionist Terry Cox.
