Cutty Sark Theatre is hosting a series of evening entertainment covering comedy, theatre and music as part their autumn programme which will also include some notable folk music performers. The setting on the world’s sole surviving tea clipper is bound to appeal to many. See details below:

The James Brothers come from the lands down under; lands in which the traditional songs and tunes of the British Isles have evolved their own unique characteristics, like musical marsupials. And it’s these songs, and several of their own making, that The James Brothers have united to play – combining their distinct Antipodean-steeped folk and virtuosity with the gusto and spontaneity of a pub session.

His influences extend beyond the English isles to France and the storming Quebecois tradition. The Fisherman’s Friends are shanty singers from Port Isaac on Cornwall’s rugged north coast – each of whom are or have been fishermen, lifeboatmen and coastguards (as well as builders, artisans, hoteliers, and shop keepers). Join us underneath Cutty Sark’s gleaming hull and hear this ten-man group sing a rousing set of shanties and Cornish folk songs in a musical celebration of the 147th anniversary of Cutty Sark’s launch.
