Maraiche was shot by on location in Glasgow and Skye; both places key to the development of Niteworks unique blend of electronic and traditional sounds. The video features a guest appearance from the song’s vocalist, the mesmerising Kathleen MacInnes, as well as stunning drone footage of the incredible Isle of Skye.
Directed by Dòl Eoin MacKinnon, and taking inspiration from the Gaelic lyrics of the song, the video follows a female protagonist as she gets entranced by the music at a Niteworks show. Distant memories come flooding back, of a former love interest since lost to sea…
The song is taken from Niteworks debut album NW, released late last year. The album features instrumental and vocal collaborations with some of Scotland’s finest musical talent. You can purchase the album direct at niteworksband.bandcamp.com or via the usual sites.
