London-based alt-folk troupe Patch & The Giant are in full festival-season mode as they prepare for a string of tour dates that kick-off this Friday 29th July at Cambridge Folk Festival. For this lovely little session, and our Song of the Day, they headed down to London’s Ecclestone Square to record a cover of Bob Dylan’s Oh, Sister, a song that featured on his Desire album featuring the harmony singing of Emmylou Harris. Here Patch and the Giant make great use of Angie Rance on violin and Gabriel Merryfield on violin to create a warmth that’s matched by their lovely harmonies and which permeates through much of their music.
