At this year’s Celtic Connections Admiral Fallow were more than ready to explore their collaborative boundaries as they teamed up with the Auricle Ensemble, a chamber ensemble based in Scotland, for a very special performance at Glasgow’s Mackintosh Church.
During the first half of the concert the band premiered ‘Common Ground‘ – a new piece composed for and alongside them by Steve Forman. In the second half they were joined by the Auricle Ensemble to perform six new arrangements of their songs by Gareth Williams, Lau’s Aidan O’Rourke, Phil Hague and Chris Swaffer. As Sarah Hayes of Admiral Fallow said:
It was the culmination of months of preparation and hard work by all involved, and we were delighted everything went without a hitch!
Watch them performing Bomb Through The Town which featured on their 2010 album Boots Met My Face.
In November last year Sarah Hayes of Admiral Fallow released Woven – a contemporary ensemble suite of music and song with traditional roots and classical influences. It was one of our Featured Albums of the Month, read our review here.
