Our Song of the Day, which you can listen to above, is from Jenny Sturgeon with the beautifully gentle paced Nowhere Else I’d Rather Be, taken from her forthcoming album ‘From the Skein‘ which is released this Friday 10 June via Tamarach Records.
Jenny shared this with us about the song:
Nowhere Else I’d Rather Be is a celebration of place and a reflection of the passing of time. The song references a feeling of contentment through acknowledging the nature and friendships which make a place feel like home – like a relaxed feeling of a summer evening spent in the company of old friends.
The album, which is also one of our Featured Albums of the Month, was reviewed by Neil (you can read his review here) who, in his summing up, said:
In From The Skein, Jenny Strurgeon has clearly decided to challenge herself. That challenge has been well worthwhile and sees Jenny push her music far beyond the realms of singer/songwriter, to a wider sphere where words, music and creativity combine in an inspired and thoroughly engaging work.
We highly recommend you treat yourself and get your hands on a copy…
