M. Ward has shared a new video today for Slow Driving Man which was directed by Carlos Forster. The slow paced video warps time during which memories overlap during a car journey with M. Ward driving Monsters Of Folk bandmate Conor Oberst to his destination. During one part a friends face emerges on the screen before the car rolls in slow motion to the lyrics “This is a song about a slow driving man, and a good friend gone in a flash”. M. Ward explains that the story is based on true events:
It’s about a driver in San Francisco who is driving through a world that’s suddenly moving too fast. One night, he happens to pick up a customer who he recognizes from a previous life. Based on true events.“
Slow Driving Man is from M. Ward’s eighth solo album, More Rain .
He is returning to London this September to perform a headline show at KOKO and a headline show at Manchester’s GORILLA. He will also perform at Festival No.6 and End Of The Road Festival the weekend prior to the London date, see below:
