Steve Gunn has uveiled a great new video for his new single Ancient Jules which finds him on his motorbike travelling across the scenic Northumberland countryside only to breakdown. But fear not, the legendary British folk icon Michael Chapman comes to the rescue…they head back to his farmhouse for red wine, records and to play some tunes! It was directed by Claes Nordwall.
The new single is taken from his forthcoming new album Eyes On The Lines, due for release on June 3rd via Matador Records. Inspired by dreams, the road and trusting the unknown, it’s Gunn’s most explicit ode to the blissful uncertainty of adventure yet.
The “Ancient Jules” digital EP is out today and includes two non-album bonus tracks, “The Handshake” and “The Soloist.”
Steve Gunn & The Outliners – Nathan Bowles (drums), James Elkington (guitar, lap steel), and Jason Meagher (bass) — head to Europe next week to begin a two-month tour in support of Eyes On The Lines.
