We have the great pleasure in sharing this video premiere from David Ian Roberts for Grail (also our Song of the Day). It is the only live track on his forthcoming EP Sending Out Fires, the video for which was shot as the track was recorded at Fieldgate Studio near Cardiff. It was performed as a trio with bassist Aidan Thorne and cellist Kirstie Miller.

Sending Out Fires is David’s first physical release since his debut album ‘St Clears’ which was a Featured Album of the Month on Folk Radio UK (read the review here).
Funding for the recording was awarded by the BBC and Arts Council for Wales Horizons/Gorwelion Launchpad fund.
It is the sixth release on the welsh label Cambrian Records who are becoming one of our favourite welsh labels…they are also releasing the new Rusalnaia album with Sharron Kraus and Gillian Chadwick which we recently featured here. A label well worth keeping an eye on who will also be curating the Settlement Stage at this year’s Green Man festival.
David’s is on tour in England and Wales through May and June, joined by instrumental 12-string guitarist Toby Hay who has also featured on Folk Radio UK here.
Sending Out Fires is released on 24th May via Cambrian Records. Pre-Order via Bandcamp here.
