Recorded over six long days in 2014, Mud Belief is the astonishing new album from the progressive London-based Perhaps Contraption, a twisted brass, art pop band that is equally part choir, part chamber orchestra, part avant rock band. They have been attracting new fans by the bucketload including a number of BBC Radio DJs such as Tom Robinson and after watching their video for Droplets / Molecules above (our Song of the Day), you’ll maybe understand why.
Bands like this come along once in blue moon but a glimpse of them in action above would strongly suggest, to me at least, that you’d regret it if you missed an opportunity of seeing them perform live – so…you can catch them at Rich Mix, London tomorrow night (12 May) as they take to the stage to unleash their cocktail of jazz, punk, art pop and post-minimalism.
