Anna & Elizabeth have revealed a new video for Orfeo, a traditional folk ballad that featured on their eponymous album which we reviewed here. Those of you that have seen the folk duo live will maybe familiar with their love for crankies, hand-wound scroll like devices that slowly depict the scenes of the songs they sing. They also like to use shadow puppetry which they’ve done so for this new video which was filmed at New York’s Jalopy Theatre. An ideal venue for this duo who like the Jalopy owners – Husband and wife team, Geoff and Lynette Wiley – aim to promote and support traditional roots music. The Shadow puppets used in the video are by A & E and it’s also our Song of the Day.
