We have the pleasure in sharing with you a video premiere from contemporary folk singer song writer Maz O’Connor. The Longing Kind is the title track of Maz’s second album which is produced by Jim Moray and due for release on 26th February – it’s also our Song of the Day. She shared this with us about the song and album:
I’m excited to share the title track from my new album with the world. It’s a bit of a change of direction, as every song on the album is original, and explores themes of identity, home and belonging. I found this archive footage online and thought this woman from a 1950s American instructional film on marriage was weirdly perfect for expressing the emotion of the song.
Maz is currently part-way through touring the album around the UK and is performing at St Pancras Old Church today – see the remaining dates below. We’ll be brining you more on the album very soon.
