At the end of last year we featured the eponymously titled album from Vesevo, a band hailing from Southern Italy whose name comes from the famous volcano. In his review, which you can read here, Neil used this wonderful description:
Vesevo have taken the oral, musical and dance traditions of southern Italy, such as famous Tarantella and Tammorra, and guided them, majestically, down a new path that leads to the thriving heart of Naples.
They recently recorded this session in collaboration with Snail Mobile Studios and Porto Petraio. This is Catarina, our Song of the Day, one that “reinforces the Moorish tones that permeate the music.”
