There’s no denying it, 2015 has been quite a year for Earth Recordings, along the way they have provided us with some great releases, some of which will certainly be making an appearance in our Year-end lists. There was the unforgettable Shirley Collins tribute album Shirley Inspired, Bert Jansch’s overlooked gem from 1973 Moonshine and Trader Horne’s Morning Way which Helen described as one of the unsung musical treasures of the 1970s, Judy Dyble’s Anthology Part 1 which Thomas concluded was a body of work that stands as a testament to the powers one of the most underrated singers to come out of the British folk scene.
There is more to come in 2016 including the reissue of Bert Jansch’s Avocet and Steve Turner’s Eponymously titled album. There is also another crowning release on the way – ‘Colours Are Fading Fast’, a beautifully presented 3 disc set from Loren Auerbach (alongside her husband and creative partner Bert Jansch). Below you can hear ‘Snowflake’, our Song of the Day and a free download.
