Scottish folksinger Emily Smith has announced the release of ‘Songs for Christmas‘, an album that’s been inspired by her ever popular annual Christmas show held in her region of Dumfries and Galloway.
As well as traditional material drawn from her folk background such as the popular end-of-show song ‘The Parting Glass‘ there is the classic ‘Silent Night‘ as well as some more contemporary offerings which will please the young and young at heart such as Mindy Smith and Chely Wright’s ‘Santa Will Find You‘. It also features two originals ‘Winter Song‘ and the single ‘Find Hope‘. She is joined by her regular collaborators Jamie McClennan (fiddle, guitar, vocals) and Matheu Watson (guitars, viola) and Ross Hamilton (bass, drums, vocals).
With the arrival of her second child due in January 2016 Emily recently showcased the album with a six date tour of Dumfries and Galloway with a full UK tour and album release planned for December 2016.
The good news is that you don’t need to wait to hear the album as Songs for Christmas is available now as CD or download exclusively from here: whitefallrecords.com
