We have a great video premiere today from Brighton based alternative folk artist Ellie Ford. The video for “July” encapsulates the simplistic natural beauty within Ellie’s music with her harp playing as its centrepiece, watch it below (Directed by Crusoe Weston):
Ellie is releasing her new single “July” November 9th 2015 on Hidden Trail Records. An accomplished guitarist, harpist and vocalist Ellie’s music is both thought provoking and utterly absorbing. Her songs are enchanting with her harp and guitar parts underpinning her sultry vocals.
As a solo performer Ellie Ford is captivating, but she also fronts a five-piece band of multi instrumentalists who play a mix of modern and classical instrumentation, including violin, clarinet, electric guitar, keys and drums. Taking influence from a range of genres the band has an edge and variation that cements their uniqueness in the alt-folk world.
2014 saw the release of Ellie’s “Show Night In” EP with airplay support from BBC Introducing South and a sold out launch gig at Brighton’s St Georges Church. She has also played at festivals such as Shambala, The Great Escape, Brighton Fringe, Oxjam and Wood Festival as well as numerous shows in London and Brighton.
‘July’ is the first single release from Ellie Ford’s debut album ‘The Other Sun’ which was recorded with Harvey Summers (Danny Thomson, Admiral Sir, Sir Cloudesley Shovell) at Broadoak Studios earlier this year, and will be released on Hidden Trail Records in spring 2016.
