Our Tune of the Day comes from West Yorkshire based solo electric guitarist Dean Mcphee, who we previously featured back in 2013 when he collaborated with Bradford-based psychedelic-folk-rock group The Family Elan and South Asian musicians from Bradford and Pakistan (details and video clip here).
That was a awhile ago, so today I’ve broken with the tradition of featuring just one track as our Song/Tune of the Day…rules are there to be broken and that’s the mood I’m in. Also, whilst the animation clip used for Solar Crown (from the 1990 film ‘Ra; the Path of the Sun God’ by Lesley Keen) is the perfect visual companion, I wanted to show Dean performing live as well. The session recorded by Harmonic Rooms at The Triangle of Shipley is superb and would have been featured before now if I’d not missed its release. So today you get a double treat.
Both are from Dean’s latest album ‘Fatima’s Hand’ released via Hood Faire.
