Priddy Folk Festival will be opening its doors soon to the public to entertain and delight us with another fantastic line-up. It is one of the friendliest festival atmospheres you’re likely to find, one which we’ve been attending since 2011.
This year’s line-up is one of the strongest crowd-pullers I’ve seen at the festival, so I’m going to be pretty spoilt for choice as some of my personal favourites are there including: Wizz Jones, Dick Gaughan, Harp and a Monkey, Telling the Bees, Keston Cobblers’ Club, Elephant Sessions, Jez Hellard & the Djukella Orchestra, The Teacups, Saltfishforty, Barrule, Leveret, Will Pound Band, Duncan Chisholm Trio, The Drystones and many more. We’ve put together a video playlist to give just a small flavour of what to expect:
There’s also a Welsh Theatre production called Hiareth which won a Welsh Theatre Award (Best Production in the English language). It’s a about a young girl, born into a Welsh farming family who feels the pull of the city. Leaving the farm will bring an end to a long-running family business. Through her story it explores the decline of Welsh tradition and identity.
