On every Thursday and Friday during August 2015 there is a low-cost festival of underground local music in Edinburgh flying under the banner of the Pale Imitation Festival. It’s one that’s definitely worth checking, offering some top talent and incredibly great value. It’s all brought to you by Song, By Toad Records who had this to say about the lineup:
We’ve got Jonnie Common and the Save As Collective, SAY nominees Adam Stafford and Happy Meals, the latter of which are part of a Night School Records closing party, as well as Toad favourites like eagleowl, newcomers to the label Garden of Elks and Numbers Are Futile, and a slew of brand new bands, some of whom have never even played Edinburgh before.
All the gigs are at Henry’s, one of the real engine rooms of the underground scene here in Edinburgh, except for one big posh one with Supermoon and Rob St. John at Summerhall, all start at half seven and are a fiver in, with a season ticket available for £25.
And also, as the cherry on the top, the awesome Kitchen Disco will be DJing and providing free cakes for everyone on each and every night.
