Our Song of the Day comes from Little Arrow, a band we’ve previously featured on Folk Radio UK. The song ‘Bills‘ is taken from their new album Old Ink which we’ll be bringing you more on very soon. The album is a return to Little Arrow’s beginnings in which William Hughes powerful vocals are accompanied by acoustic instruments in a relatively minimalist style.
This is the third time in a matter of days that I’ve mentioned the magic of West Wales (see articles on Ceri Rhys Matthews and Ian Sinclair) and it so happens that Little Arrow were “reared in the wilds of St. Davids in Pembrokeshire” and half of this album was recorded there. It’s an inspiring place clearly.
What makes this release so special is not just the strong lyrical and acoustic offerings, but also its release in a limited Zine format. It features artwork from band members alongside submissions from a range of artists, designers, writers and illustrators. It’s all beautifully packaged so don’t hang about ordering a copy.
You can order it from the Bubblewrap Collective here.
