Before The Gold Rush, one of London’s finest folk, roots and acoustic live music nights has teamed up exclusively with Folk Radio UK for a series of live session films from some of the city’s top emerging artists. Filmed and recorded at The Haberdashery Coffee House, the wonderful intimate venue for the live events.
Before The Gold Rush – In Session: #002 Tom Hyatt (accompanied by Maya McCourt)
Tom Hyatt is a singer/songwriter known on London circuits for dynamic performances, forthright lyrics and an expectation-defying musicality.
“Sophistication and aplomb which is incredibly rare… one of the most intelligent, relevant singer-songwriters in the country”
– Louder Than War
Of this track Tom says “Long Time Coming is an older song of mine about stress and the importance of keeping yourself centred. I’m lucky to be joined in this video by cellist Maya McCourt (Various Guises, Dana Immanuel) to give the song a great additional dimension.”
Tom is currently recording, and can be caught live in London on Before The Gold Rush’s stage at Alexandra Palace (25th July) and headlining Folk Modern Festival at the Finsbury (9th August).
Before The Gold Rush is a regular live music event in London featuring the best emerging artists within the folk, roots and acoustic genre. BTGR currently hold events at The Slaughtered Lamb in Farringdon, and The Haberdashery in Crouch End, in addition to curating stages at various festivals.
