Whilst the countdown is on for LA-based band The Dustbowl Revival’s fourth full-length album With A Lampshade On (due out July 21 via Signature Sounds) their latest video for ‘Never Had to Go‘ is the bugle call for its arrival with an attention grabbing performance from legendary actor Dick Van Dyke. If I can move as nimble as this guy can when I get to his age I’ll be damn happy.
Dick Van Dyke features in the video with his wife Arlene and really does steal the show…they should take him on tour but I reckon they’d have trouble keeping up! Watch the video folks:
The new album promises to shine a light on the bands live performance strengths with many of the songs recorded at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and The Troubadour in Los Angeles. To make sure they captured the authenticity of the moment they called upon sound expert Alex Chaloff who rigged up to twenty microphones to record the group from every angle. It promises to be raw, intimate, and sweaty as they hit the crossroads of American jazz and folk traditions.
This isn’t a throwback band. It’s a celebration of the sounds that have kept America moving for more than a century, performed with all the flair of a medicine show and rooted in the sweat and swagger of a juke joint song swap.
