Richard Thompson has shared “All Buttoned Up”, a new track from his forthcoming new album Still, due for release June 29th via proper Records.
Spiked with Thompson’s acerbic wit and masterful word play, “All Buttoned Up” is one of the lighter counterpoints on an album that is filled with emotional resonance. The compositions, populated by a multitude of characters on the brink, are rich with Thompson’s keen insight, humour and brilliant musicianship.
Produced by Jeff Tweedy, Still was recorded in a two-story rehearsal loft in Chicago over the course of just nine days and features several longtime players from both Thompson’s and Tweedy’s bands. The album will be released in several configurations including 180gram vinyl.
