Two down, one to go! We had a fantastic experience at the Hoddinott Hall in the Millennium Centre. From the ‘easiest sound-check ever’ to the wonderfully warm reception by the audience. The set seemed to flow more naturally and we all felt much more relaxed on the stage throughout the performance.
One of the pleasures of a tour, or in our case, a ‘mini-tour’ is that we can tweak and develop the set from night to night. So Georgia and I did a bit of switching around, extending a song and splitting verses between us, and also found more space in the songs for the harp and autoharp, as we felt that they didn’t feature enough in the performance. All the small changes contribute to the flow and ease of the set and we certainly felt that tonight.
We are now bound for Cardiff city centre, which unfortunately doesn’t have a nightclub on a pier, but I hope Clwb Ifor Bach will do the job. Although it won’t be a late one as, of course, our next stop is Cecil Sharp House, Camden!
