Our Song of the Day comes from FRUk favourite Lail Arad. Her single Everyone is Moving to Berlin was a regular feature on the FRUK digital airwaves for a long time. She came to our attention in 2010 when after an interview she put together a great mix which, for reasons that escape me, we named the Mango Mix (listen here).
Her debut album Someone New followed in 2011. After a long time touring – opening for Herman Dune, Jeffrey Lewis and ending up on stage with Devendra Banhart – Lail coproduced her forthcoming record, The Onion, between NYC and Geneva.
A preview track, Lail’s love song to Leonard Cohen, was launched for his 80th birthday in autumn which we featured as a Song of the Day. The full album is now ready for release, and it is the first official single that we’ve selected as our Song of the Day. The PR describes Milo is an explosion of je ne sais quoi. This is an earworm you won’t be able to shake off or indeed forget Lail’s bicycle skills that she exhibits so gracefully on this video!
