Australian artist Xavier Rudd is an artist we’re normally more used to seeing on stage performing solo surrounded by a panoply of instruments including guitars, didgeridoos and percussion delivering music from reggae to folk with songs that range from topics such as the rights of aboriginal people to the plight of our environment.
He’s a singer that’s been on a quest for many years now so the latest phase in that development comes as no real surprise as he takes it all to the next level on his new album Nanna released via Nettwerk on March 17th. He’s joined by musicians from around the globe under the banner The United Nations ‘representing the diverse cultures of Australia, Indigenous Australia, South Africa, Samoa, Germany and Papua New Guinea.’ Collectively they will create an immense stage presence, watch his latest video for Come People below:
The new album was mixed by Errol Brown at Tuff Gong Studios. His North American tour starts on April 30 in Portland, ME. Full details here: www.xavierrudd.com
