The Waterboys new album ‘Modern Blues’ was released last month in the UK via Harlequin and Clown. The album is significant in that it’s their first album of entirely original songs in eight years which has kept fans chomping at the bit. They recently added the album to youtube for those that have yet to hear it.
There’s a heap of great references in their including Sun Ra, Charlie Parker and Miles Davis as well as a Jack Kerouac monologue from On the Road which is an added bonus in my books (at the end of Nearest Thing to Hip).
