In an interview with Addicted to Noise Richard Thompson revealed that his forthcoming new studio album was produced by Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy. It was recorded in Chicago at The Loft, Jeff Tweedy’s own studio, and we managed to track down this image of Richard with guitarist Jim Elkington, and Jeff:

Talking about why he’d got Jeff involved he revealed “We’ve worked with Jeff live,” says Thompson. “In fact, last year in the States we toured with Wilco. They’re very conscious of the roots of music so we think in a similar way about how to make records. So I think it was a fairly easy single-minded process.”
The album features all new songs, some of which will get an airing on his current Australian tour. We’ll bring you more news soon.
