Swedish singer-songwriter Kristian Matsson better known to most of us as The Tallest Man on Earth came to prominence after opening for Bon Iver in 2008. He returns on May 12th with his follow up to his 2012 release There’s No Leaving Now. Dark Bird is Home will be his fourth album. His buried some miles in between and the songs on the album were recorded at various times and places on his travels. Dead Oceans state take this a stage further suggesting those sounds carry a weather-worn quality, some dirt and some grit. Watch the Dan Huiting-directed album trailer below:
According to Dead Oceans this is his most personal and direct, deeper and darker than ever at times, it’s also an album with strokes of whimsy and the scent of new beginnings.
