The long awaited follow up to Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat’s 2011 debut Everything’s Getting Older is only just over a month away now. Talking about the new 12-track album which is titled The Most Important Place In The World Moffat described it as “…a song for the city and the secrets she hides; it’s ticking clocks and dirty dishes; it’s raising the devil on old equipment. It’s about the life we want versus the life we need – and deciding which is which.”
Whilst Moffat continues ‘speaking, snarling and singing his candid tales’ the album promises a broader and deeper panoply of sounds. The album cover is the handiwork of Moffat’s six-year-old son and the album title takes its name from an Ikea slogan referring to the importance of home – according to the press releases the theme of domesticity and devilry, temperance and temptation run throughout the album.
The album is due for release on 16th March via Chemikal who recently revealed the lead track This Dark Desire which you can listen to below:
This is the city as she is, with a wanton heart that never sleeps.
See how she hides and shelters her subjects,
Watch how she keeps their lies alive as they run through her veins and huddle in her holes
The album is available to pre-order via Chemikal here.
