John wrote Waltz around the Kitchen while trying to get his daughter to sleep at some unearthly hour 12 years ago. The original recordings were made in his front room in Canton, Cardiff and only released as a demo on the internet. Due to the amazing response the track received, John went on to record the 12 string guitar in his next house and called on friends to help produce the track it is today. This included Imelda May added harmonies at her house and using the grand piano at Sian Cothi’s house. After one more house move and a mix by High Contrast he finished the track. So 12 years and 5 front rooms later it’s finally here.
John has been on the road for 30 years now with 15 Albums under his belt, not to mention travelling the world with The Rimshots, Johnny Bach & the Moonshine Boozers, & The John Lewis Trio.
He is currently running a pledge campaign for his new album “His Other Side” which showcases his more acoustic roots’y side. The money raised here will go towards mastering and advertising/promoting the album.
