Our Song of the Day comes from Ian Carr & The Various Artists, I’ll Call You features on his forthcoming debut of album of ‘abstract folk music’ called ‘Who He?’. That sentence alone hints at the humour of the man who, despite this being a debut, happens to be considered one of the best and most original guitarists of his generation.
Ian is incredibly well known on the folk circuit having worked with the likes of Eddi Reader, Kate Rusby and Chris Wood. We’ll be bring you more on this album very soon, in the meantime enjoy his wonderful new video for I’ll Call You which was made by Anna Nyberg and Kid Falk:
Who He? will be launched at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections Festival on January 31st 2015. Further touring is expected later in the year with Kris Drever (a guitarist and songwriter who openly acknowledges the major influence lan’s playing has had on his own music).
