While it has a new name and site, the Purbeck Valley Folk Festival 2015 is welcoming back many Purbeck favourites. Running over the Bank Holiday weekend of 27-30 August, the Purbeck Valley Folk Festival is brought to you by Paul and Catherine Burke, the music and entertainment directors and curators of the award-winning Purbeck Folk Festival. With them both at the helm this promises to be one of the best folk festivals out there and we will certainly be there for our 4th year!
With tickets now on sale, the very first acts are now being announced. This summer will see returning national names such as Megson, Martha Tilston & the Scientists, Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin and the ever-popular Moulettes.
Not to mention much-loved local bands like Quinns Quinney, Kadia, Fearne, Djambo and Aimée Mckenzie. Organiser Catherine Burke is extremely excited to announce a brilliant return of so many well-loved artists “As promoters we listen to the feedback our audience gives us. We always ask festival-goers to tell us who they’d like to see at the festival and, as well as introducing them to new music that we think they’ll like, we make sure we book their favourites again.”
Catherine added: “Martha Tilston has been to our festival four times now and the audience absolutely love her – you can tell just by the number of people that packed into the Fire Stage last year. She was so good, we simply had to have her back.

“While Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin have come on leaps and bounds since last they played at Purbeck. They were named Best Duo at the 2014 BBC Folk Awards and have headlined folk festivals across the world. You saw them here first and now they’re coming back for the Purbeck Valley Folk Festival!”
Featuring a host of favourite attractions including the same Purbeck Folkie faces, comperes, stage crew, kids entertainers, storytellers, craft workshops, music workshops, song sessions, cinema, poetry, Purbeck Rising, open mics and the very best folk, roots and world music. All this surrounded by stunning views of Corfe Castle, accessible camping and some truly delicious food.
