We recently reviewed ‘Plumes’ the third album offering from Mike Gale’s Winchester-based band Co-Pilgrim which Mike Davies reviewed for FRUK here. Whilst the album acknowledges sadness and loneliness he cleverly uses these as a basis for something more glorious and happy as demonstrated on Pushover for which we have the pleasure in premiering the video for below:
The video was made by Claire Bennett (who sings in Co-pilgrim) & Suzy Brough, the same team behind the ‘Fairer Sea‘ video, using single-frame animation with images composited from drawings and photographs. Mike’s coonskin coat and straw boater style was a popular fad in 1920s American Ivy League college students who would line up to cheer on their ‘football’ team (Claire is American). Let’s hear it for those yanks.
Plumes is out now via Battle Worldwide Recordings
