There are many songs sung by Dick Gaughan that move me but amongst them are a handful that take it all to another level for me personally. One of them is a song by Phil and June Colclough inspired by a trip they took to the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland. They were both very active on the British folk scene founding the first folk music club in Stoke-on-Trent in 1960, members of the Critics Group led by Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger and producers of a folk music radio program for BBC Radio Stoke in the 70’s.
