Our Song of the Day is a great catchy track called Guillotine by Welsh singer Songwriter Siôn Russell Jones featuring the wonderful vocals of Lillian Todd Jones who according to her Facebook page hails from Dartmoor. The track features on Siôn’s new album Lost No More.
Siôn and Lillian met through their mutual producer, Gordon Mills Jr. It was soon apparent that there was a strong musical connection between all three of them, which led to them co-writing the track ‘Guillotine’.
The video for Guillotine was shot in beautiful Dartmoor close to where Siôn recorded his album ‘Lost No More’ on which Guillotine features. “We were delighted to include Lillian’s ‘swinging fire’ talents towards the end of the video. Lillian started swinging fire poi when she was nine and often took part in her fathers festivals.”
Siôn (pronounced Sean), has already made a big impression being championed by BBC Radio DJ’s Huw Stephens, Tom Robinson and Janice Long. Since the release of his debut album “And Suddenly”, Siôn has had a busy few years playing shows at many festivals including SXSW in Texas, Canadian Music Week in Toronto, How The Light Gets In, Liverpool Sound City, The Station Sessions, The Great Escape, Greenman Festival, Hop Farm Festival and more, he also secured an endorsement deal with Stonebridge Guitars and a publishing deal with BDI Music (Bucks Music Group).
Upcoming shows include a slot at Fornoise Festival in Switzerland on August 19, live shows in Zurich and a return to Amsterdam in November.
