Our Song of the Day is from Nottingham based singer-songwriter Jack Peachey who goes under the moniker of Gallery 47. Invasion is taken from his forthcoming album All Will Be Well to be released on 25th August. His tenor voice and rapid finger style guitar playing leave a distinctive impression as do his lyrics which have been described as beat poetry.
Jack makes no secret of the fact that he is heavily inspired by another era of music and in an interview he admitted that if he could live in any decade it would have been the 70’s. I’m pretty sure that Paul Simon, Dylan and the late Buckley would have taken some pleasure in others comparing elements of his performance to them. Here is the his latest video for Inavsion:
The days of working whist studying at University to put on his own gigs are well and truly behind him as the likes of Paul Weller step up to invite him on tour giving him a new level of self-belief to go on and take his music to levels that he has probably dreamed of over many nights in the past.
I think this young man is going to very big this year….
