We were impressed enough with Edd Donovan And The Wandering Moles’ acclaimed album Something To Take The Edge Off to make it one of our album’s of the month (read our feature here). Edd has just released a second track from the album The Stone, coupled with two additional tracks are Edd’s reworking of Labi Siffre’s It Must Be Love (also recorded by Madness) and a special alternative summer version of The Stone as an EP (out 4 August). There’s also a video to accompany the lead track and you can see that exclusively here. Talking about the song Edd says, “The Stone is a celebration of life; our existence; our self; that we are born and then we die and the bit in the middle, well that’s up to you. But the lyric implores us to make the most of it and get creative.” It’s a simple message effectively delivered.
Edd and the Moles are playing tonight at The Green Gathering on the main stage at 7.45 and again on The Dandy Lion stage at Midnight on Saturday. The shows are part of a series of festival dates followed by a special concert at The Convent in South Woodchester, Gloucestershire on Friday, August 29th which will also be broadcast live as a worldwide webcast (Link here).
