Our Song of the Day is from The Viking Progress, a project that was conceived at sea amidst the bellows of whales and the smell of diesel and fish. It is the creation of Patrick Morales who took a contract as a marine biologist in the summer of 2008 working on board commercial fishing vessels.
The project takes its name from two boats he worked upon called The Viking and The Progress on which he wrote most of the material for his eponymous 2012 debut.
His apocalyptic anthems touch on people facing decisions regarding death, love and their last days on earth. It also featured Scott Spillane of Neutral Milk Hotle fame. Listen to La Devine below:
