Our Song of the Day is from Somerset based Ruu Campbell who was described by Rough Trade as ‘a real life troubadour bringing camp fire wisdom to the modern age’. In his music there appears to be an underlying pursuit of a utopian dream which has driven many along the same path over the years as the modern world suffocates and takes over, the escape to the countryside beckons louder.
On the video for ‘The Call’ you get a real sense of the utopia with the clever use of ethereal psychedelic imagery.
As well as working on the release of his debut solo album he’s also working on a new album for the Cinematic Orchestra.
