I was going to save this video for next week but seeing as we’re having a dog day afternoon and I’ve started today with Darren Hayman’s A House Without Dogs this video from Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy was screaming to be shown now.
Bad Man is from his self-titled album which has been gracing our playlist recently. The song has nothing to do with a dog although ‘get any closer I’m bound to attack’ is a phrase a few dogs I know would maybe use if they could talk to me. Quirky and typical Will Oldham, that’s why we love him.
I managed to obtain a copy of this album on vinyl via the good folk at Cafe Oto who had a few copies but you can now order direct from Oldham’s own website at http://royalstablemusic.com/. It’s worth getting and I’ll leave you with a quote I quite like from the liner notes:

There’s a nice thank you on the album to, amongst others, David Wax Museum who have been performing with Will Oldham, I don’t think know of a more collaborative artist. Enjoy.
