James Yorkston has announced details of his new single ‘Great Ghosts’. It is released on the 18th August and taken from his forthcoming new album The Cellardyke Recording And Wassailing Society released on the same date through Domino Records.
As previously announced on Folk Radio UK James has brought together a broad cast of players for this release with Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor on production and featuring KT Tunstall, The Pictish Trail, Rob Smoughton, Fimber Bravo, and his long-term collaborators Jon Thorne and Emma Smith. Having already giving you a taster of Fellow Man we are very pleased to share the new video for Great Ghosts.
Great Ghosts is a beautiful, mocking lament in duet with fellow Scotswoman KT Tunstall ans also features The Pictish Trail. The accompanying video to is a stop-motion animation directed by Marry Waterson of the Waterson clan whose video work is both brilliant and very prolific of late. Long may that continue.
