Having just played Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced that they will be back in the UK in the autumn for a string of shows, and have also announced their biggest headline date in Britain so far at Wembley Arena on the 21st March 2015.
Rodrigo y Gabriela released their fourth studio album ‘9 Dead Alive‘ back in April this year which they revealed on twitter is ‘a personal celebration of individuals who have passed on, but through their deeds and words still resonate in the 21st century.’
The opening track, The Soundmaker, which you can listen to below is dedicated to Antonio Torres Jurado, a Spanish guitarist and luthier. He is said to be “the most important Spanish guitar maker of the 19th century” and it is through his designs that the first recognisably modern classical guitars are to be seen.
