Having just completed a quick run of UK dates Canadian songwriter Dennis Ellsworth has left his footprint with ‘Hazy Sunshine’, his new album which is released this week.
Having previously supported John Smith with a 10 show tour late last year and garnered the support of BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris, Ellsworth’s UK fan base has been growing steadily.
Hazy Sunshine was produced by Skydiggers guitarist, Josh Finlayson, and is recognised as a departure from his previous release Dusk Dreams. “Hazy Sunshine has definitely got more of a pop vibe in terms of the arrangements and lengths of the songs” Ellsworth says, “but it isn’t as laid-back lyrically.”

The album is a seamless blend of modern East Coast folk and rock & roll, with shades of classic Americana, roots and country haunting the edges. His influences include Harry Nilsson, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, Neil Young and Alex Chilton but his sound is entirely his own.
