We first introduced Dorset raised Roo Panes back in November 2012 when he was already generating a growing fanbase as well as capturing the attention of promoters which led to his first proper gig at The Troubadour in London. The night was an eventful one in more ways than one…he split his thumb whilst playing during the first song which then caused a young lady to faint and have to be carried out. That could be a blessing to many a promoter…you can imagine the tag lines now. But there is no need for cheap commercial tricks with this player, his songs and music speak for themselves requiring no bling.
He has a gifted voice that makes those melodies raise the hairs on your neck and it is for that reason we’re more than happy for Roo to feature on FRUK with a second ‘Song of the Day’. This is his new single Tiger Striped Sky due 23rd June through CRC Music.
“Think I’ll write a tale of my own / I’m going southbound where the ocean is flirting with the coast / And tell me why / I’m underneath a tiger striped sky”
Roo Panes is on his first full UK tour during May and June so make every effort to see him live, you won’t be sorry:
