Our Song of the Day is from two of English folk music’s very well known artists: Martin & Eliza Carthy. Happiness features on their forthcoming new album The Moral Of The Elephant and was written by Molly Drake, the mother of Nick Drake. In a recent interview about the album Martin added that the song “is a reminder that he [Nick Drake] came from a songwriting family” with Eliza adding “it’s a real singer’s song.” It’s the first time this song has been covered by a major recording artist.
