Our Song of the Day is from The Honey Ants who are John Grimsey and Rebecca Hamer. They have a lovely folk tinge to their music and that classic retro sound that almost definitely nods towards the likes of The Everly Brothers, something you can really hear on their latest single Lies (See You Again) on which their harmonies are unforgettable.
Although subtle the new single demonstrates a greater level of production which accentuates the sadness and longing in the song without sounding saccharine. If this is a mark of a developing sound then they are definitely a duo you want to keep a look out for during 2014. We’re looking forward to hearing more very soon but try and catch one of their London gigs if you can:
