It doesn’t seem that long ago that O’Hooley & Tidow were lamenting the passing of The Fragile Tour, a crest they had been riding for 18 months. Then in February they became our Artist of the Month with the release of The Hum, an album that has continued to build on their promise, bringing in Gerry Driver as sonic architect to match a set of songs brimming with big ideas and the sound of life itself (read Simon’s review here).
The reception to their new album has been remarkable, Robin Denslow of The Guardian attended their London album launch giving it 5 stars and stated “On this showing they have the originality and skill to invite comparison with the folk scene’s most celebrated North American harmony duos, from early Simon and Garfunkel to the exquisite Kate and Anna McGarrigle.”
Does it get much better? Well now’s your chance to find out, below you will find the tour dates for The Hum which will also be taking in a number of festivals including Glastonbury, Larmer Tree, Cambridge Folk Festival and Green Man. Here’s a reminder of why we love them so much, this is their official video for Summat’s Brewin’ (Oh Good Ale) which premièred on Folk Radio UK:
